When we tested the Cuisinart DCC-3200, we found that it made an excellent cup of coffee. It includes a gold-tone reusable coffee filter and charcoal water filters to ensure that your coffee is pure and smooth. While the best coffee comes from freshly ground beans, during a busy morning before work, grinding beans is just a step too far for many of us. However, this coffee maker’s grinder means you can have freshly ground coffee without the hassle.

Great coffee maker, it took a while to figure everything out but once I did it was very easy to use. While you are getting two appliances in one, the SS-15 does cost twice as much as and take up more counter space than most single-function brewers. Before you shell out big bucks and clear counter space, make sure you really need the double functionality. If you want a perfect cup of coffee and a perfect cup of espresso, your best bet is to have different machines that are made for one specific thing. However, having multiple devices is costly both in money and in countertop real estate. We tested nearly 150 coffee makers to see which ones are worthy of space on your kitchen counter.

It’s a good idea to let all the parts dry thoroughly before re-use, especially if you don’t plan to use the coffee maker for a couple of days. Fill it with a maximum of 2.5 scoops of your favorite ground coffee. Then, clean up around the edge, ensuring there are no stray ground coffee bits. Since this is a dual coffee maker, the footprint is bigger than your standard drip coffee makers. It measures 10.13 x 10.38 inches, or just over 100 sq in.

There’s also a 1-4 cup button that should be selected if brewing such quantities; it adjusts the process for better extraction and flavor. This model is best suited to households wanting coffee from freshly ground beans, without the hassle of getting out a separate grinder. But if you usually drink the whole carafe straight after brewing, you could save some money and get the model with the glass carafe instead. The $190.95 Cuisinart SS-20P1 is the stainless steel thermal carafe version of the SS-15P1, the focus of my Cuisinart Coffee Center review. There’s not a whole lot of difference between the two models, aside from the fact that the carafe is not made of glass. If you’re going to brew one cup at a time, using this little gadget is your best bet.
